Thunderous applause for Elizabeth and her debut novel, LOVE TORN ASUNDER. Typically, I do not like stories that are heavily character-driven, but this novel was a very excellent read. Elizabeth wrote in five voices (Kendrick, Leslie, Devine, Lincoln, and Her) and each of them were distinguishable and unique. What Elizabeth did best was effectively convey the points of view of each character with respect to to the plot thoroughly and expertly.

LOVE TORN ASUNDER is the story of Leslie who is happily involved in an intimate relationship with a traveling business man, Lincoln that is missing any intimacy. In the beginning of the novel, she is convinced to move in with her best friend Devine, a stripper, at the Red Rooster, Buffalo, New York's premiere strip club. That move is seemingly the worse move of her life. Leslie is reconnected with a childhood friend (and Devine's cousin) Kendrick, who is able to sweep her off her feet and into her bed for a night of passion, which leads to a three month sordid affair. An affair that exposes Kendrick's wife and Leslie's husband to a considerable amount of pain, and Devine to a jealous rage. A rage that assists Kendrick's wife in telling the ultimate lie to break-up her husband's happiness when not at home. And a lie that brings Leslie's engagement to a complete halt. In the end, LOVE TORN ASUNDER ended powerfully with a twisted cliff-hanger that was done so smoothly, there doesn't even need to be a part two. But, rest assured I am waiting for part two.

I tip my hat to the story development. I also would like to be in Buffalo a little more and perhaps have a sub-plot, which could release the grip that Leslie's drama had on me, which wasn't bad. (wink wink)

I would definitely recommend everyone dealing with relationship and cheating issues read this. Elizabeth has concisely given it psychology-style and knows her way around the minds of all the characters involved in a love triangle. It was scary at times to see how well she's developed these characters. The plot is a case book example of The triangular theory, which is a theory of love developed by psychologist Robert Sternberg, and is a must read.

Wow....this is an intricately woven and emotionally engaging drama that keeps you totally engrossed!! Elizabeth Funderbirk has crafted a story that is action driven and chucked full of emotional tidal waves.

For me, it was also educational and tested my beliefs, convictions and confirmed the need for boundaries. "Love TORN Asunder" is comprised of a host of characters but each is essential in their roles as this author fluidly moves from one course to another. Leslie is the main character and the center of this thoroughly told story of her life, choices, deeds, deception and the effects of such on her and those that love her. Leslie is a steady and secure woman until an extended separation from the one she loves sends her traveling down a road lined with deception and manipulation cloaked in caring and friendship. With her feelings of loneliness, her allowing people to get in her ear thus head, she ventures down a road that up heaves her life in ways that could be detrimental to herself, to all that she has built and those that she loves.

"Love TORN Asunder" is a tale of choice that is a great conversational piece as it taps on so many actions and situations that we face in our everyday lives. I must commend this author on the way she penned this story in the voices of each character as they took the forefront at their given times. Ms. Funderbirk did an excellent job in developing these characters and with their own voices. In doing so, it lead to an interesting read that kept me totally engrossed and anxious to "hear" what happened next....YES, I said hear as this book reads as if the characters are each telling their own stories. TORN is an on-point depiction of this book and what can become of its effects as it is thought provoking, trying, full of personal growth and acceptance. Chi-Town Reading Circle and I have fully anticipated this book and it was well worth the wait. By the way "Love TORN Asunder" ended, I know there has to be more and I am fully anticipating it as well.... it took everything in me not to contact this author and ask just a few questions.

For her first time out the gate, she did an exceptional job and I can assure you that she will be around for a long time to come producing this kind of work. Kudos to Elizabeth Funderbirk for a story well told!! I give this premier novel 5 stars easily.

In all honestly this book was around a short while before I made my purchase. The Author Elizabeth Funderbirk and I met in a writing group on Facebook where in all honesty there was a lot of talk about the book cover. I applaud the Author for not being a slave to convention and going with creativity instead.Though for those of you who are fast to choose a book based on cover design,if this isn't what your eye would normally gravitate towards......don't overlook a great book! Love Torn Asunder will not disappoint.

The book was was well written with a contemporary feel to it. Reading as we all know takes us many different places in your mind though these days with some genres it's down right outlandish and frankly unbelievable. When I opened up Love Torn Asunder I was introduced to very believable characters, that while reading made me feel like I knew someone like them.Definitely a work of fiction that takes you on a trip with characters that make you want to applaud them when they seem to be making good decision and want to yell at your screen because you care about the character and want them to make a better choice!

I loved it and don't think any reader will be disappointed in this book!

Now if you thought ZANE'S Books are hot! Then you really need to read Elizabeth's novel "Love Torn Asunder" This well written novel is just that. These characters in this book will have you absolutely on the edge of your seat, from all the drama in their lives.

They are seeking to find satisfaction, intimacy from the ones that they have come to love deeply.

Some of them even stumble while forfeiting their own feelings to make others happy. Somewhere on this journey in seeking a bit of harmony the character Leslie feels something that is not familiar at all.

Kendrick is not whom he should be as a man, but will he get it together right before its much too late? Oh and that Devine- DIVA with a mind to make it do what it do, to pay her way, can or will she find her way out of the drama she has created along the way. I wish I could say more, but you will have to get your own copy to see how it turns out!

I say Fiery and Very Combustible!!!!

Wow what a great book!!!! If this book does not make it up the charts then shame on readers. This is Elizabeth Funderbirk first book to be published. Love Torn Asunder is a book that you cannot put down. You find yourself making time in your busy schedule to read it, even if you have to stay up late and loose sleep.

The character's in Love Torn Asunder draws you in because every character is either someone you know in real life or you may find yourself in one of the character's. I love cliff hangers and Elizabeth Funderbirk did deliver that at the end of the book. So much so, that I had to contact her through her website at [...] and let her know I need the next book now and not later.

Her book is about love, deception, setting goals and doing what it takes to get there for yourself and the one you love, learning to listen to others, family, setting things right when you stray from what you wanted in life, emotional battles from things in your past and present, etc.

Just to let everyone know this is my first time for me to read an unknown Author. Elizabeth and I became friends through Facebook and like many of you I am not sure how we became Facebook friends - LOL (sorry Elizabeth). I saw her post on Facebook about her new book and she invited everyone to her website to get a sneak preview. I feel in love then with Love Torn Asunder and knew I had to have it and it did not let me down.

So go and purchase Love Torn Asunder by Elizabeth Funderbirk and I would love to here what you have to say as I am sure Elizabeth does also.

Aaahhh!! I'm SO frustrated. I was on the egde of my seat trying my best to get to the ending of this book. I HAD to know what happened to everyone. Got to the end. Big Bummer. Now I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for Part TWO!!!

I REALLY enjoyed reading Love Torn Asunder. This isnt like one of those books where I had to MAKE myself read it. I never once got bored or lost concentration! It kept my attention the entire time. All of the twists and turns kept me wanting more and more. It was like I was there and could imagine every single detail. From the hair styles to the inside of "Her" house. Amazing.

I had NO clue who Elizabeth was until I "met" her on Facebook. I never imagined that I could be THIS proud of a "stranger". After chatting back and forth with Elizabeth, I realized that this "stranger" is so humble and down to earth. She is very grateful and counts her blessings for sure! I'm so proud of her and she certainly is much more than a stranger now.

Very well written book!! Looking forward to Part 2! Awesome job!!!

Oh and did I mention that this is her FIRST published book? If her first book is this entertaining, then I cant wait to see what her second book has to offer!!

This is a book for sure you want to make sure to read.
There is just so much going on inside this novel that it will indeed keep your interest page after page. Elizabeth managed to hit so many facets of life, drama, love and despair and put them together in a well written story.
You'll be sitting on the edge wondering what else can the characters possible do to intrigue you, but Elizabeth definitely finds more for them to do. Leslie as well as others give you insight into so many things that you can relate to. So grab a copy an get ready for a while ride...

When you start talking back to the characters, you know the author has you hooked and that is just what happened with Love Torn Asunder. The main character, Leslie annoyed me with her choices to the point I wanted to call her up myself and say "STOP IT!" It was like listening to a friend make all the wrong decisions. But, she wasn't the only one who got under my skin. There was also her best friend Devine and Devine's cousin Kendrick that got my goat too. The great thing about this book is the characters are believable, whether I like their actions or not. They are someone in your family or at your job. They might even be you!

This is an easy read about relationships, intimacy, friendships and infedelity. I am so pleased that there is a part two because there were so many things that just didn't sit right with me such as Leslie's cheating ways, Kendrick's wife (who doesn't have a name by the way) and Devine's low self esteem. Great job Elizabeth, keep them coming.

Have you ever picked up a book whose story engaged you so much that you had a hard time putting it down? If you have not, be prepared for Love Torn Asunder. Ms. Funderbirk’s main character, Leslie , makes you think about how good some women have it and don’t even know it. Relationships are time consuming if they are worth being in. Leslie takes stock of herself both physically and mentally daily and in being fully aware of the consequences of her actions, she continues to make poor decisions.

I heard about this book thourgh winning a contest and was excited because our group won and we had the chance to read it first (Thanks). The book started off really slow for me I was like I'm gonna have to force myself to read it but as I keep on reading it was getting good. So as I keep reading I was getting in suspense as to what was going to happen next. It is filled with a lot of drama and lust. I really enjoyed the characters. At times I was trying to picture how Lincoln and Kendrick look (lol) .......Lesile yeah I was fussing at her, and Kendrick wife omg that heffa is stuck on stupid (really) But was mad because it had a part 2 and I can't wait to see how it will end. I would recommend this book, but I will also let them know the beginning is slow but to just keep reading you will enjoy it I know I sure did.

I felt the book stared off a bit slow and too much detailed descriptions in the beginning. This sort of lost my interest in the book, but as I got futher into the reading I was drawn in by suspence as to what was gonna happen next. There was alot of drama, which kept the suspence end up on what would happen next. Things such as who was being faithful in the relationships of lovers and friends. My emotions were roaring up and down because I really didn't know which character to like or who to trust. But it gave enough detail to help you discover what type of person each individual was. There was alot of love and lust going on for sure and the details were great at these points. I felt Leslie tried too hard to be independant and it caused her to be blind to the fact that she was being used in more ways than one, and the one man that truely loved her was being used by her. Now the question is will she and Lincoln fight through this or will her lustful act of the past destroy them? I am anxious to know by reading part 2  "Love Torn Asunder The Conclusion "
